Mike Vrabel he’s back on the training market, and that means other suitors will be chasing the potential New England Patriots candidate
According to Zack Rosenblatt of The AthleticVrabel will interview with the New York Jets for their head coaching opening at the team’s facility on Friday.
The former Tennessee Titans head coach came through last season working for the Cleveland Browns as a training consultant. With Vrabel’s contract with Cleveland up, he is now expected to be one of the hottest names on the coaching merry-go-round.
After firing Robert Saleh during the season, the Jets are one of the teams currently looking for a new head coach. The Patriots, meanwhile, still have their head coach, plus a vote of confidence from ownership that Jerod Mayo will return next season.
However, that hasn’t stopped rumors from swirling that New England might part ways with Mayo after one season. If that were to happen, Vrabel has been described as a “natural fit” for the Patriots job.
A three-time Super Bowl champion during his time in New England, Vrabel is a member of the Patriots Hall of Fame. After retiring as a player, he quickly rose through the coaching ranks. He was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023.
