Officials tout public-private partnership for Springfield courthouse as speedier, cheaper

SPRINGFIELD – State officials have moved from proposing a new state-owned courthouse to a public-private partnership, under which the state would lease a new building for up to 60 years.

Administrators from the state Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance held the first public hearing Wednesday on plans for construction of the new courthouse over the next year. The meeting was held online.
