Canelo’s team approaches William School for a title fight in May

IBF super middleweight champion William Scull revealed today that he has been approached by Canelo Alvarez’s team about an undisputed title fight at 168 in May in Las Vegas.

If a fight against Cuban Scale (23-0, 9 KOs) goes ahead, WBA, WBC and WBO 168-pound champion Canelo (62-2-2, 39 KOs) would have the opportunity to become a two-time undisputed champion.

Canelo Calling

This probably won’t make Terence Crawford happy, as he was hoping to move up to 168 to challenge Canelo for his unified titles. However, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen for Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), and he’ll have to make other plans, such as fighting at 154 or retiring. Well, we don’t always get what we want.

It doesn’t look good for Crawford with his dreams of fighting Canelo, but he probably won’t let him sit around and hope that match happens.

If he was just busy fighting often, he wouldn’t have to work so hard for the golden parachute fight against Canelo. He would make a lot of money from his other fights. If Crawford moves up to 175, he could fight David Benavidez and try to put himself in position for a big payday against undisputed welterweight champion Artur Beterbiev. Crawford is said to be constantly sparring with light heavyweights.

Skall, 32, recently won the vacant IBF title with a dubious 12-round unanimous decision win over Vladimir Shishkin on October 19 at the Stadthalle Stadium, Falkensee, Germany. The scores were 116-113, 116-112 and 115-113. Many boxing fans felt that Shishkin had done enough to deserve the victory.

Scull’s Big Break

“William Scull confirms to the Cubanos Punos program that there is a rapprochement between his team and #Canelo’s team for a possible unification confrontation next May in Las Vegas.” Skal adds that an official meeting of both teams will be held on January 10 in order to finally agree on everything. Furthermore, the IBF super middleweight world champion clarifies that Berlanga existed as a possibility, as did Christian Mbili, who was ruled out for monetary reasons,” said Carlos Linares. Ks.
