A child suffered life-changing injuries after the quad bike she was riding crashed into a telegraph pole outside a high street pub on Boxing Day.
The bike, a green Honda TRX420, was traveling off Leeds Road in the quiet rural town of Kippax, near Leeds, at around 10.30pm on Thursday.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing serious bodily injury by dangerous driving after the accident.


A man and a woman, both in their thirties, were arrested on suspicion of child neglect and are in custody.
The seven-year-old girl was a passenger on a green all-terrain quad when it crashed into a pole outside the Old Tree Inn pub in the town’s High Street.

West Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and CCTV or dash cam footage of the Honda driving around Kippax from 10pm on Boxing Day – which is 30 minutes before emergency crews were called.
The girl is in hospital with injuries that police say are “serious and life-changing, but not considered life-threatening.”
The quad bike was found and the road was reopened at 1:30 p.m.
An investigation remains in place in High Street and nearby Church Lane, and police have asked anyone with information or CCTV footage to contact them online or via 101, quoting reference 13240701189.
