Berkshire County under a winter weather advisory Saturday



A Winter Weather Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service at 3:18 a.m. Friday for Berkshire County from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The weather service says: “Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulation around a light glaze of up to one-tenth of an inch.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, are likely to become slippery and dangerous. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible,” the weather service says. “Slow down and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If go outside, watch your first steps on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of falling and injury.”
