King Arthur Baking pop-up store in Boston extends lease through early 2025



Don’t put that holiday cooking kit away just yet. The Boston King Arthur Baking Company The pop-up store extended its lease until February 16, 2025.

The store opened in September at 172 Newbury St. to increase brand awareness and inspire bakers from novice to advanced, according to the company website. The store was originally scheduled to close on December 31.

The store sells King Arthur’s signature baking products and equipment, including several varieties of flour and mixes, as well as pans and other baking tools.

“Pop-up stores provide a unique opportunity to engage directly with the community, share our passion for baking and offer a curated selection of baking staples, gifts and tools,” said Bill Tine, director of marketing by King Arthur Baking Company. a statement on the website.

King Arthur Baking Company, based in Norwich, Vermont, was started on Boston’s Long Wharf in 1790 by Henry Woodwho imported flour from England. The company, then called Henry Wood & Company, was the first flour company in the United States, according to the company’s website.

Eventually, the company began purchasing flour made from grain grown in the United States in the 1820s as agriculture spread to the western region of the country. It moved its headquarters to Vermont in 1984.
