Video shared on Facebook shows a large avalanche coming down a New Hampshire mountain on Tuesday.
The natural avalanche happened on Hillman’s Highway after several inches of new snow and wind, the Mount Washington Avalanche Center he said
The center warned that the risk of avalanches is elevated throughout the week “as the wind has the opportunity to continue to move light-density snow and form sensitive wind slabs.”
“It is critical that you be prepared to make your own stability assessments and terrain decisions that support what you are seeing in the mountains,” the center said. “If you’re not sure how to do these assessments, hiring a guide is a great option to dramatically reduce your risk.”
