Woman suspected of being the ‘Tom Brady of stealing packages’ nabbed in Boston

A woman suspected of stealing packages for weeks, which has earned her the scorn of South Boston residents, was arrested Tuesday by police officers while delivering Christmas gifts, authorities said.

While delivering toys to children in South Boston late Tuesday morning, a police cadet spotted Kerri Flynn, 34, who matched the description of a notorious neighborhood package thief, a statement of the department said.

The suspect had been seen stealing packages in South Boston for weeks, and residents who contacted police referred to her as the “Tom Brady of package theft,” according to a police report.

Officers found Flynn with “two bags full of unopened packages,” the report said. He also had outstanding warrants for his arrest on charges of burglary in Taunton and receiving stolen property in the Boston area.

Flynn was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in the South Boston Division of Boston Municipal Court on charges of burglary of a building, police said.

He appeared in court in South Boston later Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor receiving stolen property, according to court records. He was released without bail.

The stolen packages were returned to their rightful owners, police said in their report.
