Urgent Walmart recalls 850,000 water bottles after two consumers suffer vision loss

The bottle was officially remembered on Thursday, after Walmart received three consumer reports that were struck on the face by the open lid. According to the CPSC, two of these people “suffered a permanent loss of vision after being hit in the eyes.”

Consumers have been strongly urged to stop using and have their Ozark Trail bottles. They can also return them to their local Walmart store for a full refund.

The remembered product can be identified with the model number, 83-662. The number does not appear in the product itself, but it would be visible to the containers.

The base of the bottle is silver and the lid is a black screw lid and a single piece. The Ozark Trail logo is also printed next to the 64 ounce bottle.

In a statement to Associated Press, Walmart said: “The health and safety of our customers is always a maximum priority.”

The United States retail giant said he had “completely cooperated” with the CPSC and the manufacturer of the remembered product “to eliminate it from our stores and notify consumers”
