For their first live program, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski had the owner of Patriot Robert Kraft in their podcast “Dudes on Dudes”.
Housed in Fanatics Fest and New York, the former patriots took Kraft on stage, announcing it as “the best owner of the NFL”.
The conversation opened with Edelman and Gronkowski describing the importance of Kraft not only for the team, but also in the community as a whole. Edelman asked his former head about his expectations for this new Pats Group.

The podcast moved to former New England coach Bill Belichick. Kraft described Belichick’s recruitment as his best play, and one who shocked people at the time.
“What was most questioned was in 1999,” Kraft said. “I gave up a number 1 selection for a coach who had only won a little over 40 percent of his games to get him out, I don’t know if there are some fan of jets here.
“I think that getting Bill Belichick came to the patriots in 1999 was a great risk and I let go of the Boston media, but he was with us for 24 years and we did well.”
Edelman then got his former chief to discuss how he met Belichick. According to Kraft, he started with Jon Bon Jovi and a trip to Louisiana.
“It was apart from the ’96 Super Bowl, we were in New Orleans and playing the Green Bay Packers, ” said Kraft. “My third year of property and good Jovi had been a great fan of Bill’s and we are on the sidelines and we became real good friends after that.”
