This new Scandi Center Parcs brought calm back into our family holiday – and it’s surprisingly good value

AboutNot this year hot swollen trends is “calmness”, and I don’t need to do a lot why. Overloaded with news and drained the uncertainty of the future, we all look for a vacation in which we can renew the level of cortisol and bring that flutterbed blood pressure under control. It might look clear enough how do you do it: book somewhere Quiet in the countrysideSet the phone to silence and read the book. But what about If you’re a parent?

I’m in Denmark Brand new Central Parcs Nordborg rested with my husband, children and a dog to find out whether the promise of a peaceful family vacation is too good to be true. On top of five forest sites in the UK, Center PARCs also has locations across Europe: nine in the Netherlands, seven in France and six in Germany. His first in Denmark, near Sonderborg, opens this month, where he is placed in a regulated nature, with an abundance of a serene serenity.

It is a little secret that Denmark is beautiful in the summer – warmer than the UK, but not too hot – and with beautiful sandy beaches. Rain passes quickly if it is at all. It helps that the Danish school holidays are in July, so, in the moment of the English school in August, the resorts will be quiet. How South Europe begins to feel too hot and too busy for a simple, carefree family vacation, Looking at the north And many options start to feel like a good idea.

I have history with family resorts; It’s a little loving hate relationship. I like to encourage your children and reduce the number of times those who were bored. I hate the way I can’t relax because I watch everywhere, there are too many colors and too much noise. The question with the family holiday is that there are so many different individual marking boxes – and I will say that: It is impossible to please everyone.

We remain in a wooden cabin that descends on the hill facing the sea. Inside is design inspired by nature, with pictures of seagulls on the walls of the pine coating. I am delighted to find a sauna in one of two bathrooms, along with a bit Toddler and baby gearFrom a chair in the bathroom to plastic plates and cutlery and curtains. It doesn’t matter that my kids, at the age of 10 and 14, went well for that phase, I can remember how much it helps you when those things are meant.

Sauna is especially enthusiasm because I can see a stunning modern corner Bridge – Danish swimming port – with floating swimming platform in the sea. We take frigid dipping in the Baltic Sea to start the day, with a sauna ready for warming it warmed us. These are good things for parents – perfect for discovering feelings peaceful and well-being.

The park was located in a place with 190 hectares, which stretches from the coast in forests in forests with activities intermittent during. At the entrance is a small museum of science, which my 10-year-old loves, and about 20 minutes drive from the nearest town, Sonderborg, where you can wander shopping streets and onions.

Younger children than mine had a ball in a quiet zoo with miniature ass, bones and sheep, and a playground in the form of a giant rabbit. Activities are great for families of all ages, with bicycles and rickshaw cycles, and mini soccer plots for combustion of excess energy. We stopping to play the terrain and let the course focused on nature: obstacles are Driftwood and bunch of granite and polished marble. Everything is very easy on your eyes.

Most, we love Aqua Mundo Water Park. I’ve never seen my 10-year-old eyes shone so much Gleea as when I saw it disappeared in wild water waves. We laughed so many of our faces in pain.

The resort has no spa and there are not many activities that are for adults – it is set primarily for families – but the calm coastal location means that you can take a walk on the beach and through the woods without hearing patching children’s votes. I can see how well works for a group of friends – elegant lawsuits and natural settings give you a feeling of a cottage, and there is no need to participate in family activities if you don’t want. Winter through trees on rental bikes, scooters and rickshaw would be equally fun without children.

For the right treat, skip independent stay and book in Dyvig Badehotel For dinner, a 10-minute drive from the resort. It is a Denmark Feast for memory; Expect seafood towers and excellent desserts. It is also a great place for afternoon tea: this region is known for its South Jutland Towel, moaning 21 different types of cakes (i ideally, you should taste them all). It walks in the woods and swim in the sea suddenly feels like a great idea.

It’s not all the perfect family fun, because families aren’t perfect, is it? My teen would prefer a loud and sticky resort and thinks that while this place is fun, it is also boring. It is better for her to better families with children younger than 10 years I find the need to book activities, dinners, bowling and more ahead of time I’m a little uncomfortable – I want to be relaxed and goes off with flow. But I also understand that on the ground floor of this size you can’t just get people withdraw and book things at this moment. You also have to pay for every little extra thing – bike rental, for example, both bed linen and towels – but the water park is always involved, and total rates are surprisingly well, so it is not so bad. Who would think that about Scandinavia?
