Springfield – The collaboration of the city’s school empowerment area is one of the 24 national education systems selected to participate in a new initiative that brings together innovative ideas from all over the country to renew high school learning.

The area has been selected to participate in the future of the Secondary Network, a new effort of the Carnegie Foundation for the advancement of teaching that will examine success strategies to help students success, said Matt Brunell, one of the executive directors in the empowerment zone.
