She died a seven-year-old girl and four other children injured after the wood fell in the park in Essex.
Emergency services are invited to report that the tree partially collapsed into Chalkwell Park in Southendabout 15 hours on Saturday, police said.
Officers found a number of children caught under the injury suffered. Five children were taken to the hospital, including two in a serious state.
