An 8 -year -old boy died on Wednesday afternoon after being extracted from the waters of a pond in Clinton, according to police.
The officers responded to the Harbourview Authority Apartments Clinton Housing Authority at the Lakeside Avenue at around 2.30pm, said Clinton’s police in a statement on Wednesday night. Shortly afterwards, the boy was unanswered in a nearby water body.
The paramedics took him to a nearby hospital where he was declared death, said police. Clinton Police and the Office of the Worcester district district are still investigating how the boy died.
The closest pond to the apartment complex is Mosy Pond, but they are also near South Meadow Pond, Coachlace Pond and the Wachusett reservoir.
