As a new week starts, several beaches will be closed in Massachusetts on June 16.
Of the state beaches, 16 are closed. This includes Walden Status Reserve Pond to Concord, which remains closed throughout the summer As a new late $ 6.1 million bathroom, a $ 6.1 million bathroom is built, according to Massachusetts Public Health Department (DPH).
The Red Cross beach in Walden Pond will remain open without lifeguards.
Most closures are the result of extremely high levels of bacteria. The presence of these organisms may come from rainwater searches, septic systems that do not work or that do not function poorly, combined and sanitary sewer overflows, which filter sewerage pipes, illegal sewerage, wildlife and pets waste and agricultural runoffs.
The DPH will test the beaches daily to monthly to determine and ensure that they are safe for swimming. If a beach is often used or prone to water quality problems, they are more often tested and vice versa, DPH wrote.
“Laboratory analysis for all beach samples takes about 24 hours,” according to the Department’s website. “So it is common for a beach closure to last one or two days after an overcoming.”
