Boston – Catcher Carlos NarváezRabi’s rabi single Red Sox 2-1 on Yankees Here in Fenway Park on Friday.
“His bat-bat on the late plate in times of crisis, never gives up,” titular Garrett crochet he said.
Narváez’s launch at the top of the tenth entrance was equally clutch. Narváez trapped Anthony Volpe, the extra-entry automatic runner, trying to steal the third base for the first departure.
“It has been a revelation,” Crochet said about Narváez who Red Sox acquired the Yankees On the same day (December 11) they purchased the White Sox crochet.
Crochet said that his wife Rachel recently mentioned that he and Narváez were listed in Boston in a few hours.
“I guess fate say,” Crochet said, which allowed only one race in 8 tickets.
Narváez did not expect Volpe to work at the beginning of the count.
“Because they have (Jasson) dominuez on the plate. Any ground ball on the right side, he (Volpe) will be in the third,” said Narváez.
But Narváez said he was not surprised that Volpe took off once that Red Sox’s rellever, Garrett Whitlock, reached two strikes.
“A Spin count,” said Narváez. “He probably saw the grip or something. He predicted and went. I only tried to put the ball in his bag, trusted (third basketball) Marcelo (Mayer) there with the label. And this was a nearby play. Volpe flies and is a great base runner. He knows how to steal bases. So this was huge for us in this post.”
Narváez has launched three of the four runners who have tried to steal the last two games against him. He also closed the boom of the rays on Wednesday when he trapped José Caballero stealing the third base for the second of the eighth entrance with Boston ahead of 4-3.
“Caballero like the other day,” said manager Alex Cora. “They took advantage of them. They are very good in what they do as a running basis. Volpe with Hop-Hop and he goes. But Narvi, he made a great release. He actually talked to Whit when he entered.
The Red Sox knew that Narváez had the opportunity to be a defender above the average when he acquired it. His only concern was the strength of the arm.
Instructor capturing Parker Guinn involved the Red Sox launch department to help with its mechanics During spring training. Narváez said he has been working on the strength of his arm from the camp.
“At the moment, especially key moments, I just try to put the ball in my bag as quickly as possible and this was the situation,” said Narváez. “And I’m really glad we got it out.”
Narváez also credited the launch staff.
“The pitchers are also doing a better job to control the race game,” he said. “I like to change the appearance and rhythm.”
Volpe was initially called safe, but the Red Sox challenged.
“It was a great launch, a great label from Marcelo and we received the call,” said Cora.
Cora would not say whether or not the Yankees had tried to steal in this situation.
“As I always said, I manage the Red Sox,” Cora said.
Crochet added about Narváez: “You talk to him and you forget that he is still ranked as a novio. It’s really special. He really calls games like ten years ago on the program.”
