Seymour Planetarium will be illuminated with sound and color on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays this summer for “Reputation: Under the Stars”, a program that combines dazzling effects with the songs of the 2017 Pop Star Album, “Reputation”.
This show comes after the success of Springfield Science Museum 2024, “1989: Under the Stars”. This show, such as “Reputation”, was created by a collaboration between Jenny Powers, director of the Springfield Science Museum, and Kaitlynn Goulette, Westfield, a teenage astronomer and Fan Taylor Swift.
“I liked learning how to use the planetarium team and making the show attractive to the audience,” Goulette said in an interview with the Republican. “As I defied this criterion, I enjoyed the process and I’m really happy with the final product.”
Goulette and Powers knew that they wanted to do another program of rapid topics, but there was a capture. They had pledged to use only recordings owned by the singer -songwriter and, at that time, Swift did not have the rights of “reputation” and had not yet released his own version of the album.
This changed on May 30, when the pop star announced that he had bought his entire record of recordings from the private capital Shamrock Capital.
“All the music I have done now belongs to me. All my music videos. All concert films. The art of album and photography. The unpublished songs. The memories. Magic. The madness. Each age. All my life,” Swift wrote on his website.
In recent years, Swift has been working to re -publish its first six albums, from “Fearly (Taylor’s version)” and “Red (Taylor version)” in 2021. “Reputation”, a favorite album of fanatics with Billboard Chart Toppers as “… Ready for It?” And “look at what you did”, now is only from Taylor.
“I grew up listening to Taylor and his album ‘Reputation’, and knowing that he finally owns his original songs, returns to the nostalgia of my childhood,” said Goulette. “With this property it also comes the opportunity to share this program with the audience, which has been excited for months.”
The show at Seymour Planetarium is a work of love for Goulette, who at the age of 16 has already put his passion for space and stars. Senior in promotion to Westfield High School, she is the founder and president of the Space and Astronomy Club of the School. She is also graduated from the Starwatch Leadership Program at Arunah Hill Natural Sciences Center in Cummington.
In the Springfield Science Museum, Goulette is a Seymour Planetarium educator and a panelist from the Museum’s monthly online dissemination program, Astroquest. She is also the director of the Springfield Stars Club, an amateur scientific organization founded in 1934 in collaboration with the Museum.
“I always like to share my passions with others, and being able to combine -two is a great feeling,” Goulette said. “Space and astronomy may seem to be puzzling topics to study, but this show opens the door to the world of astronomy through music.”
Goulette explained that the lighting effects under the domestic roof of Seymour Planetarium were carefully coordinated to reflect the music and if it was a slow or fast song. SWIFT fans can also monitor special rapid -themed references. “In the whole show, there are favorite things that refer to the favorite things, including cats and number 13,” he said.
“Reputation: Under the stars” starts at 16 hours each day and lasts 45 minutes. Tickets, which must be purchased in addition to the entrance to the General Museum, are $ 5 each Available on the museum website.
