Nate Eaton powers Worcester Red Sox to eighth consecutive win

Nate Eaton’s Fort Day on the plate played a key to set the Worcester winning position on Tuesday.

He provided a two -lap house in the middle of the four -thrown floors of Woosox to open the third. Worcester did not look back and defeated Lehigh Valley’s iron pigs, 9-1.

Worcester (35-28) will face Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, June 12, in the second game of a series of six games with iron pigs, with the first pitch for 18:45 pm et.

The flight of two sacks of Eaton in the opening frame put the Woosox in front, but a solo house of Buddy Kennedy level the score of iron pigs.

But this would be the lonely for the hosts, as Vaughn Grissom soon returned to the lead to Worcester to the third, hitting the election of a camper who led in a race.

After Eaton connected with his sixth race of the year in the central field, Nathan Hickey joined the leadership with a double RBI to drive to Blaze Jordan.

Tyler McDonough added a solo house to fifth of Worcester’s books, his third race at home. Jordan drove in a simple RBI in seventh place. Trayce Thompson then struck a double play with the loaded bases, but without any exit to the entrance, the third runner left to score.

Isaac Coffey wins his first victory of the season, throwing five tickets and winning four batters while allowing a single race, one hike and a blow.
