Holly Rowe was the recipient of a prestigious prize less than 24 hours before the Sph Reporter Sideline shared a bewildering moment with Chicago Heaven forward Angel reese.

“With more than 25 years as one of the most versatile and celebrated advertisers of ABC and ESPN, Holly is known for his extensive work with university football, basketball, volleyball and softball, along with WNBA.
“Holly is in the heart a champion of storytelling and a champion of the members of our university sports communicators who tell the stories of students, coaches and their universities and conferences.
“Throughout his career, Holly has worked closely with hundreds and hundreds of athletic communicators. A prominent speaker on leadership, hard work and resilience, is the champion of enhancement and leading others, as he has changed the script and added his voice to sports comments.
“She is a recipient of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Curt Gowdy Media, a new winner of the Emmy Sports Emmy Award, and tonight we can also call our great friend the recipient surprise of our Keith Jackson Eternal Award of 2025.”
Rowe acknowledged after he was completely withdrawn when receiving the honor. “Well, first, he struck me. I had no idea,” he said.
“But number two is really an honor. Anything with Keith Jackson’s name about him: it was a kind of my childhood storyteller watching university football. I grew up to be someone who really worked with him, I worked with him his last university football game.
“So this is a huge prize for me, and only to receive it from these people, CSC, and all the people in this room have meant a lot for me in my career. So it is a huge prize, and you saw me cry a lot because it means a lot to me.”
The next day, Rowe returned to his publication as a ESPN commentator to cover the victory of New York Liberty 85-66 on the sky.
