Dear Eric: We live in a large city where the houses are very close together. My neighbors keep the bins on the road near the front and side doors. They have three dogs and the bin starts early, sometimes before seven in the morning.
My living room and kitchen are next to their road, so I feel collided -me of the garbage tapas throughout the day of launching dog waste and more.
When I worked, I probably didn’t realize so much, but now I am retired, and it really puts my nerves. I want to ask them to try to close the trash quietly instead of letting the tapas fall and get ready, but my husband thinks they will be retaliated and worse.
We mainly have a good relationship with them, but I don’t want this to put in the rest of my life. Ideally, they would have to put the bins on the alley, but I would settle for peace of mind, as I suppose it is advisable to stay near my door. Your thoughts?

Dear Quiet: If you have a mainly peaceful relationship with the neighbors, it does not seem likely that a request like this warms up to retaliation. It is a reasonable question, and your solutions, whether to move the bins or be more aware of closing -are seemingly easy to implement.
Whether in a large city with its vicinity or remote land where the closest house is not in sight or somewhere in the middle, we must discover how to live in harmony with those around us. As in any other relationship, one of the foundations of a good neighborhood is communication. And that works both ways. When you let them know what you are experiencing, allow them to make a change. So don’t be afraid to talk. Now, it is also true that some people are well shaken. And if this is the case and they consider making more noise, more than less, then you have a different problem. But I hope consciousness wins for your good.
