One day after Shottspotter detected 18 gun shots in seven seconds, and police found a fatally fired man, a chilling text message was sent: “It’s complete.”
Three men have been charged with the death of February 4 by Mauricio Lawrence, 33, in Tennis Road, in Mattapan.
At around 23:30 on February 4, Shotspotter detected 18 shots about 35 Tennis Road. Boston police responded and found that Lawrence had multiple shots. He died while brought by Boston Ems to the Boston Medical Center.
Suffolk district prosecutor Kevin Hayden said that the case is a “creepy sequence of calculated actions”.
About six hours before the shoot, video surveillance shows Jair Meeks, 24, who entered Lawrence’s workplace to record him while two others were waiting near a Honda Acord.
Once back in the car, Dash Cam del car recorded Meek Tell Tell Darby, 29, by East Weymouth, and Roberto Taylor, 29, Dorchester, what to do until the shootout, said the district’s prosecutor’s office. This included saying them to “wrap [the gun] Go up in a “to try to take the shells” bag, to put different tire rims in the agreement to alter their appearance and use special tape to cover the license plate to make the vehicle more difficult to detect.
Darby and Taylor followed Lawrence in the agreement when he left the job, the officials said. When Lawrence approached the apartment door, Taylor approached behind and fired, added officials. Taylor returned to the car and, with Darby driving, fled the area.
“It’s complete,” Darby sent to a text the next morning.
“This case has a creepy sequence of calculated actions. It also provides an excellent example of researchers who pursue a criminal incident until it is identified and presented to each person who played a role and presented themselves to respond to their behavior,” Hayden said in a statement.
Meeks was charged with the Superior Court of Suffolk with a count of accessories before the fact. He was ordered without deposit.
Darby and Taylor They were charged with the Superior Court of Suffolk for first degree murder on May 8.
