Southwick – The Regional Southwick Volleyball Team High School left two sets on the Springfield International Charter School during the regular season, losing the second set in the two regular season games against them. In his third meeting Wednesday with much more on the line, the opponent of Rams would not be so lucky.
Regional Southwick No. 1 devastated the fourth Springfield International Charter School in the Interscholastic Athletic class of the Valley Pioneer Valley Valley Volleyball Volleyball Class Wednesday night, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17, to move to the championship game. Rams will now face the second floor on the second floor Pioneer Valley Christian in the Chicopee High School
“I am impressed that we win them in each set,” said Kaitlyn Anthony, Southwick’s boys’ volleyball coach. “We are now a stronger and more changed team.”
It was a battle closely answered with Southwick (14-5) who finally separated from sics (13-7) when they reached the marks of 19 and 20 points. Rams senior captain, the book Max Salvador, just as he has done it all season, provided the glue to help keep his colleagues locked up.
“Our last two games [against] This team lost our quick energy, “said Salvador, who ended with 14 excavations.” Our mental game was out [in our previous two matches against SICS]. Today we just know that we had to work together, not to get off and bring to each other. “”
Salvador was not alone in his efforts.
River Thompson delivered a solid party, although he ended with eight slaughter, nine excavations, two aces and one assistant. “He had a rough practice, so he was a little nervous,” said Thompson’s coach Anthony, “but he went very strong with his footsteps and served and was really focused.”
Braeden Iglesias (three slaughter, three excavations) was also essential for the three -set barrier of Southwick, said Anthony, saying: “He traveled a long way to his blocks and scales and was more aggressive. He has been very confident. He has traveled a long way.”
There were others who were fundamental to Southwick’s great victory.
Senior Captain Phong Tran tracked 28 assists, four excavations and four donkeys. Nicolas Spina turned 17 killings together, 11 excavations and a half block. Daniel Methe managed 12 excavations and a slaughter. Also contributed by Zachariah Frailey (Kill, Two Davs, 1½ blogs) and Tyce Wilson (Kill, Two Ases).
Now Southwick will try to make history and win his first Western Mass Championship.
“I’ve been here as much as ten years old,” said coach Anthony. “It would mean very personally, especially for our five older elderly for this.”
“I really hope I would help create our program and to create interest in sport here,” he added. “And I would cry in a good way.”
