Fans of this ‘bonkers’ drama call for beloved show to be axed after ‘boring’ season finale

ABC has not yet confirmed if the success drama will return for a second series

Dr. Odyssey’s viewers have been discouraged by the end of the season, with some even asking for their cancellation.

The Ryan Murphy series, which debuted at ABC last September, has captivated the audience with the story of Dr. Max Bankman (portrayed by Joshua Jackson) and his medical team.

Interest in the show increased when a love triangle was introduced between Dr. Max, and nurses Avery Morgan (Phillipa Soo) and Tristan Silva (Sean Teale).

What seemed initially that a casual launch between colleagues became a situation for Avery, who was pregnant and uncertain about his son’s father for birth. However, it was later revealed that he was not pregnant after all, but had received a false positive because of an ovarian cyst.

With the problem solved, the fans expected Avery, Tristan and Max to form a “triumph”. Although love triangles are a basic element in similar dramas, Dr. Odyssey has cut a niche for its unique stories, leading viewers to anticipate a similar turn for their romantic trio, reports the mirror that.

However, the end decreased these hopes.

In episode 18, published on Thursday (May 15), Avery finally decided to follow a relationship with Max, leaving Tristan on his own. In the final scenes of the episode, the nurse expressed his feelings.

She confessed, “Max, I love you. I want to be with you. And I want to go to the Medicine School. And I want to choose -and choose -and I have no idea how to do all this.

Max replied, “Max, keeping the anticipation alive, counteracted a promise:” And you don’t have to do it because we will do it together … TBD details. “”

However, as the narrative was wrapped, fans expressed disappointment about the direction of the series, lamented by an un -inspired conclusion after having their hopes for something less conventional.

A disappointed viewer woke up to Ddyssey Reddit’s Forum: “Well, boys, it was real, and this episode was a real bummer for many of us who have hooked ourselves from the first half that he expected to take again -only for the most aggressive most boring path.”

The frustration was clear in his follow -up statement: “Even if it is renewed, I do not know if I would see it because the second half of the season was not the same program I signed up, but I hooked on this magic from the first half.”

Crestfallen chose to point out his fingers, instead of expressing a deep feeling of defeat: “I don’t know who blame, so I will only jump this part and say that I’m not crazy, I’m very disappointed.”

The thread was filled with fan confessions that were originally captivated by the Throppe plot that caused the program, which they saw as a novel and an attractive appearance for a main drama. Its dissatisfaction was palpable as the end was unfolded.

Echoing feelings throughout the community, a particularly displeased fan emphasized: “After all we get Max/Avery. Thank you ABC. I hate it.”

In the midst of the reaction, some hard spectators were ready to call it leave with the ABC saga, with a vocal group even defending its cancellation.

A viewer expressed his frustration, saying: “You know what, possibly, unpopular opinion, but you cancel -I am very done. And it seems that this show also took place.

Another person agreed with the feeling and added: “I am everything to cancel -I doubt that many people want to see one more season.”

ABC has not yet announced if the series will be renewed for another season.

Dr. Odyssey is in streaming now in Hulu.
