American International College taps insider as next president



Springfield-A 14-year-old administrator with American International College is now leading the school after serving for a year as a temporary president.

Nicolle Cestero was named the 13th President of the College for his advice.

Kevin Saremi, the Ombudsman Chair, said in a statement that Cestero’s familiarity with AIC’s operations, “along with his profound understanding of higher education and operational excellence, will continue to advance AIC.”

Saremi said Cesero has shown “a strategic leadership, commitment and vision of his time in AIC”.

Cesero, graduate of Mount Holyoke College, joined AIC in 2011. As President, he replaced Hubert Benítez, that left the place June last.

Before climbing to the highest work, he served as Executive Vice President of the AIC, director of operations and Chief of Staff.

In a statement, Cestero called it a “honor” to guide an institution that has had such an impact on my life and life of so many others … I am excited to work with our teachers, staff and community partners dedicated to continuing to advance the access mission, opportunity and preparation of students to achieve their goals. ”

Before coming to the 140 -year -old school, Cesero worked for the Foreign Relations Council, a non -supportive think tank focused on world affairs.
