During the Sunday night of “American Idol”, the contestant Slater Nalley experienced a Rite de Passage de Singer Professional: Letters forgetting on Stage.
When she prepares to perform “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” During the Disney Episode of the Night, the Georgia singer was whisper, as she struggled to remember the opening lines of “The Lion King” iconic song. But his memory lapse did not last, and Nalley fired and completed the song as if he had not lost a word.
The performance praised the judges Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie, but it was Judge Luke Bryan who shared a vulnerable moment with Nalley on his brief FLUB.
“I want you only to understand, that happens,” Bryan said. “I have done it in prize shows and high pressure moments. But the way to recover and a great job at the end.”
The remaining seven contestants had two possibilities to impress the viewers during the Sunday episode: first during a round of performances by Disney songs, and again when the singers each shared a tribute to Mother’s Day. The actor, playwright and singer Lin-Manuel Miranda was the guest mentor of the week and took advantage of his experience as a composer of the Disney soundtrack to help contestants prepare.
Like the past weeks, “Idol” fans will vote during the Sunday night episode to determine which five contestants will move forward and what two hopeful “idols” will return home. The results will be announced at the end of the episode.
