Part of the problem is that the Cacace, 36, missed the opportunity to convert to the world phase when he was rewritten by his IBF Super Featheright title after he gripped from Joe Cordine last year in May in an upset technical knockout in Riyadh.
Instead of defending his IBF belt against his compulsory challenger Eduardo ‘Sugar’ NunezCacace left the strap to take better fight against faded Josh Warrington last September. Cacace won, but he looked mediocre.
Even if Cacace lost that fight in Nunez, it would still be asked for a lucrative domestic conflict against Warrington and Leigh Vol. It was a mistake in the part of Cacace, because he returned that the invisible fighter used to be before the cordin was disturbed.
The way he performed against Warrington, maybe it’s a good thing that didn’t pass with the fight with “Sugar” Nunez (27-1, 27 hp), because he would probably clear his watch firmly Mexican. Still, it seemed bad that Cacace was determined by his IBF title instead of defending him against Nunez just to take over Varrington hills.
Implications for the title
