Former Cambridge music teacher charged with sexual exploitation of minors

A former Cambridge music teacher was arrested on Thursday in relation to minor boys and another man to produce child sexual abuse material for him, announced the United States Prosecutor’s Office of Massachusetts.

Cambridge resident Joshua Dewitte, 50, and Christopher Allan Tisoy, 27 The United States Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

It is then said that Dewitte had committed these crimes, was at the Buckingham, Browne and Nichols K-12 school, according to the United States Lawyer and Middlesex District Prosecutor’s Office Marian Ryan. Cambridge public schools did not respond to a comment request on Thursday evening.

Tisoy entered the United States legally in September 2024 and works as a medical technologist at the Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, said the United States Prosecutor’s Office.

In December 2024, Dewitte was identified as the owner of a Snapchat account who uploaded a presumed file of child sexual abuse, representing the abuse of a boy who seemed to be between the ages of eight and ten, said the United States lawyer. Snapcchat’s records indicated that Dewitte had multiple conversations that were sexual in nature with users who presented themselves as minors in September 2024.

In these conversations, Dewitte requested bare photographs of the alleged minors, sent images of his penis and discussed previous and potential meetings in person during which they would have sex, said the United States Prosecutor’s Office. In addition, it is alleged that Dewitte paid and offered to pay another Snapchat user to obtain and produce child sexual abuse material.

From this information, the application of state law obtained a search mandate for the house of Dewitte in January 2025, said the United States lawyer. He was then arrested and accused of the Cambridge District Court of six accusations of diffusion of obscene material to a child, a count of distribution of material represented by a child in a sexual act and a count of tenure on child pornography. Later it was released under conditions.

A forensic examination of Dewitte’s mobile phone, which was captured when he was first arrested, revealed a telegram conversation between him and Tisoy, which organized the production of videos representing the sexual exploitation of at least two minor boys in the Philippines, said the United States lawyer. It is said that the two have negotiated the conditions in which the videos would occur, including which minors should be involved, what sexual acts they would interpret, which would be filmed, which angles would be filmed and the amount of Dewitte would pay Tisoy for each video.

The negotiation incorporated the sexual preferences of the two men, with the two who agreed on what each one would find sexually rewarding, said the United States Prosecutor’s Office. Tisoy then informed these instructions to the minor victims to create a video.

DEWITTE is supposed to have paid Tisoy for each video he produced and sent, said the United States Prosecutor’s Office. It is alleged that, between July 3, 2023 and December 27, 2024, Dewitte sent 87 paypal payments to Tisoy, in amounts ranging from 27 to $ 958 and for a total of almost $ 24,000.

Dewitte was tried on Thursday in the Federal Court of Boston and celebrated an audience on May 12, according to the United States Prosecutor’s Office. Tisoy was arrested and tried on Wednesday in Baltimore and ordered a hearing on May 14.

The charges provide for a sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison, five years throughout the life of supervised liberation and a fine of up to $ 250,000.
