Springfield – The Springfield Garden Club will celebrate the annual sale of plants on Saturday, May 31 from 9 noon to the Monkey House in Forest Park. Free ticket for sale of floors is available at the TRAFTON ROAD entrance to Forest Park, 200 Trafton Road, Springfield. A spring tradition and the great collection of club scholarships, this is not the type of sale of plants that focuses on the sale of wholesale producers. Except for some donations from generous garden centers in the area, these plants are from members’ gardens or have been cultivated from seeds specifically for sale
This is a great fundraiser for our scholarship and lots of fun for club members and our customers. We love talking about the plants we offer and, with many gardeners and gardeners experienced among us, we can offer useful suggestions on which plants buy or answers to some of your gardening questions.
The Springfield Garden Club grants an annual scholarship of between $ 2,000 to a high school graduate student, a university student of undergraduate or graduate specializing in a plant science science program or full -time environmental studies, such as horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, conservation, forestry, botany, plant agronomy, environmental pathology, environmental control, land management or other fields. Using the revenue of past plant sales, the club has given more than $ 80,000 in scholarships to students of the last 30 years and we hope to add this year.
