A fire that exploded inside a Plymouth mobile house let a person hurt and threatened the houses nearby on Monday morning.
The fire started before 9:08 on May 5, in a mobile house in Plymouth Mobile Finques at 35 Indian Trail, according to the Plymouth Fire Department.
Heavy residence and smoke came from the residence of a single floor, and the department called the heat and the “intense” flames. Firefighters were able to demolish the fire in 30 minutes and protect two nearby houses.
Two people were inside the mobile house when the fire broke out and they could escape due to their smoke detectors, the department said.
A person was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital to be treated.
“This is a powerful reminder to have smoke detectors working in your home, because they save lives,” said Neil Foley, Plymouth Fire Chief. He also congratulated the Firefighters on their quick attack and prevention strategies.
The cause of the fire does not seem suspicious, the department said, although the incident is still in investigation. The mobile house was considered a total loss.
