Westfield: Strong winds and heavy rains fell trees, damaged houses and left hundreds without power on Saturday afternoon in Massachusetts.
The National Meteorological Service reported 65 MPH winds regional at the Westfield-Barnes regional airport and 59 km gusts / Ha International Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, said Matthew Belk, meteorological service meteorologist.
“We are still collecting data, but it seemed damage to the wind online,” he said.
At Western Massachusetts, electricity had been restored at around 12:30, Sunday, to all customers less than one in Agawam. The damage to the city was of a dropped limb, said Jamie Ratliff, spokesman for Eversource.
Eastern Massachusetts, there were about 200 interruptions on Sunday afternoon, with about 130 concentrated in Southbury, he said.
