‘Summer-like’ warmth Saturday in Mass., storms likely, National Weather Service reports



Massachusetts residents can wait for the heat as a summer Saturday with a potential of scattered storms that take place in the afternoon, according to the National Meteorological Service.

For the head and the islands, the day will be partially sunny with a maximum of 67 degrees. Temperatures will drop to about 55 degrees in the evening with a 20% chance of showers.

Dispersed showers and storms are likely to take place from 2 p.m. in Boston, reports the National Meteorological Service. There is a 30% chance of rain, but the day could be mostly sunny with a maximum of 83 degrees and a minimum of 59 degrees at night.

The Worcester climate includes 60% of rainfall followed by showers and storms after 2 p.m., temperatures will reach about 82 degrees during the day that will fall to 59 degrees on Saturday evening.

For Springfield, showers and storms are possible throughout the day, with a 60% chance of rain. The high temperature is expected to be about 82 degrees, with a minimum during the night of approximately 58 degrees.

Greenfield residents can foresee showers and storms, as some of the storms could produce heavy rains throughout the day, with a maximum of 80 degrees and 80% of rain. Temperatures on Saturday evening could go down to about 55 degrees.

For Berkshires, showers and storms are also in the forecast, with 80% rainfall. The region may experience a maximum of 76 degrees, with a minimum at night around 54 degrees.
