Judge Carrie Underwood, “American Idol”, has surprised viewers with a call return to the program in 2005.
At the beginning of Sunday’s episode, Underwood sang “Alone” (covered by Heart in 1987), which he had previously chosen for a “idol” performance as a contestant at the fourth season of the program. His new interpretation of “Alone” launched a round of the Rock & Roll Hall of the competition, which saw the 14 best contestants this season performing music from the past Hall of Fame Induct.
A few days before the episode, the YouTube channel “American Idol” hung a new entry to “From Idol to Icon”, a series of videos that explores Underwood’s time on the program 20 years ago.
“Throughout this competition, I have been the singer of the country and I wanted to risk -and leave my shell a little,” Underwood said in an old clip in 2005, explaining his choice of songs.

Underwood also commented on his “miles” hairstyle, which he said was a reflection of the 1987 cover launch.
