The 14 best contestants “American Idol” did not have to wait much to learn the results of Sunday’s episode.
In contrast to the last weeks, when “Idol” was opened after an episode and closed the following morning, the episode of the night limited the vote on the duration of the program. The viewers voted live when the remaining 14 contestants participated in a special round of the rock & roll theme competition Hall of the fame, performing songs of past induces such as Aretha Franklin and The Beatles.
After counting more than 19 million votes, the end of the program revealed that Amanda Barise and Desmond Roberts would not advance to the first 12 places. Roberts performed the switch song “Jesus is love”, while Barise selected the cut of Michael Jackson “I can’t help but.”
Top 12 contestants include Thunderstorm Artis, Kolbi Jordan, Filo, Gabby Samone, Josh King, Slater Nalley, Canaan James Hill, John Foster, Matte Pruitt, Jamal Roberts, Ché Chesterman and Brena Nix.
Throughout the episode, the first 14 received guidance from the Boston -born superstar (and the Rock & Roll Inductee Rock Fama) James Taylor, who served as a guest mentor. The remaining 12 contestants will compete again tomorrow, this time with the attendance of the guest mentor and the winner “Idol” of the 3 fantasy season.
