After reaching the 20 best contestants in “American Idol”, Baylee Littrell, son of Backstreet Boys member, Brian Litell, has been eliminated from the 23rd season of the program.
Littrell did not advance to the 14 best contestants during the episode on Monday night, when the singer was one of the ten hope “idols” that were ordered in the “dangerous zone” based on the votes of the spectators. From there, the decision was in the hands of judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan.
To stay in the competition, Littrell called on the jury with an interpretation of John Legend’s song “All of me”.
“Baylee, I feel like every time you go on stage, make us more,” said Underwood.
The judge and the winner of season 4 of season 4 even called the time when their “best performance”. But it was apparently not enough to keep Littrell in the race and the singer returned home with five more contestants: Isaiah Misilegalu, Drew Ryn, Zaylie Windsor, Olivier Bergeron and Victor Salomon.
“Your boys increased the challenge, week after week, challenge after the challenge,” Underwood told the “danger zone” contestants before announcing the final decision of the judges. “You’ve done incredible. Bring this with you and be proud of this no matter what happens.”
