Scientists Say they have discovered a new color just seen by only five people in the world – called ‘olo’.
The color said that a saturated shade of blue-green, can’t see the naked eye without helping the laser stimulation, which scientists claim that they cannot open people over the usual color perception.
Researchers have developed the technique of the OZ Vision system, named into honor with green obscured glasses that people spend in the ‘wizard oz’ in the emerald city, to reveal a new color in the study, Published in the journal scientific progress.
It was found when laser signals are intentionally “driven away” only a few microns (millions of meters) the subjects perceived the incentive laser’s natural color.

When the same OZ microdeses are delivered to the following, subjects to perceive different colors of long, unseen colors outside natural human chomoes and images such as “shiny red lines” or “rotating dots on the fallen background.”
“We predicted from the beginning to look like an unseen signal in color, but we didn’t know what the brain would enter”, said Ren NG, Electrical Engineer at California University, Berkeley.
“It was a jaw. It’s incredibly saturated.”
Prof, who was one of five people to participate in the experiment, said BBC Radio 4Today’s program that the olo was “saturated but any color you can see in the real world”.
“Let’s say you pass your whole life and see only a pink, baby pink, pastel pink,” he said.
“And then one day you go to the office and someone wears a shirt, and it’s the most intense baby pink you’ve ever seen, and they say it’s a new color and we call it red.”
During the study, OZ LASER only stimulated only housing cones “, which would basically send a brain color signal that never appears in the natural vision”.
To check the color noticed during the experiment, each participant adjusted the controlled dialing until it matches the ol.
The color is given the name ‘olo’ for a reason, because it marks binary 010, which indicates that among L, M, and with the cones included only M, M.
Paper is reading: “Let’s call this new color” olo. “They report items that the OLO is in our prototype system look blue green unprecedented saturation, when viewed in relation to the neutral gray background.
“Subjects believe that there must be the floor by adding white light before they can achieve color color with the nearest monochromatic light, which lies on the border of gamut, unequivocally evidence that the ole is out of the garma.”
But findings challenged other experts.
“It’s not a new color,” John Barbur, the vision of scientists in the city of University of London, who said the research had “limited value”.
“It is a saturated green that can only be produced in the subject with a normal red-green chromatic mechanism when the only entrance comes from M cones.”
Oz has theoretically used for daily color views, such as those in your television or phone screen – but this application seems very unlikely, said the first author James FongDoctoral student in computer science at the University of California, Berkeley.
“Our current method depends on a highly specialized Lasers And the optics that definitely don’t come to smartphones or TVs shortly, “he said.
So until then only a handful of selected people will be allowed to truly see the olo.
