Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-The Springfield Thunderbirds (34-30-2-4) could not achieve his offense in a rate of 4-1 in front of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, who received himself as Carbondale Subns (38-22-7-1) on Saturday night in Mohegan Arena de Casey Plaza.
In his debut AHL, Jacob Hudson, a rookie striker, could not have dreamed of a better script for his first turn with the T-Birds at only 1:45 in the contest. He jumped on the ice, chose the shit of Rookie Harrison Brunicke’s companion on the Penguin line, and removed a perfect wrist in front of Joel Blomqvist’s glove to give Springfield the advantage of 1-0.
From then on, the penguins received tonight when the Carbondale UFOs maintained pressure in the defensive area of Springfield. At 13:32, Tristan Broz went through a strange rush, making a beautiful drop of Sam Poulin and beat Colten Ellis to tie the game.
Rookie’s 19th goal turned out to be the first of two in a 20-second blitz for the UFOs, as the companion Ookie Nolan Renwick won his first pro-Catalan at the goal after a past-centered pass at 13:52. The two strikes gave the home team 2-1 to intermission.
Ellis continued to be the most busy gel man in the second period. The T-Bird Netminder saw its total increase to 30 up to only 40 minutes of the game action. Among their best work in the period were splendid shots close to Emil Bemstrom and Broz.
The offense remained difficult to find for visitors, and the UFO finally added to their leadership at 16:44, only seconds after a power play had been completed. Owen Pickering sent the shit to the back door from the right circle, where Atey Calvert made it for Ellis to extend the score to 3-1.
The story did not change much to the third, as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton continued to overcome Springfield in the shooting department, ending the night with a 44-23 advantage at shooting attempts. Ellis’s great night would not be enough despite his effort of 40 savings. Bemstrom sealed the night with the 22 of the season in an empty network with 1:31 remaining.
Springfield returns home to close the regular season for a two games against the Charlotte Checkers in Thunderdome on Friday and Saturday.
