Cincinnati (AP) -Sergio Santos scored in the second half and Roman Celentano made it clear when FC Cincinnati edited New England 1-0, surpassing the revolution at TQL Stadium for the first time on Saturday night.
Neither team scored until Santos passed a pass from Pavel Bucha in the 65th minute and found the network for the first time this season. Santos has scored eight of his 27 goals in three seasons with Cincinnati (4-2-1). The rest came in four seasons with the Union of Philadelphia. Bucha’s attendance was his third of the season after having pointed out five in 33 career games last season.
Celentano ended with three savings when he published his third clean sheet of the season for Cincinnati. It was its 27th drop in its 97th start of the race.
Aljaz Ivacic saved four shots in the goal for the revolution (1-4-1). Ivacic had two savings and Celentano one in an unmatched first part.
New England was the only club in the Eastern Conference that Cincinnati had not beaten at home after entering the play 0-4-1 for all time.
Cincinnati improves up to 3-0-1 at home and won for the first time this season without Kévin Denkey scoring the winner.
Cincinnati coach Pat Nonan was a first selection of the revolution in 2003 when he was the Rookie of the Year runner -up. It was the 200th game of the club since joining the League in 2019. Cincinnati is 68-86-46 in general, but 54-27-28 under noon. The club is also 31-8 in games of a goal since 2023; No one else has won even 20.
New England has scored only four goals in her second season under Caleb Porter. Ivacic has given seven goals in six games.
The revolution travels to play at Atlanta United on Saturday. Cincinnati travels to play DC United on Saturday.
