Staff at the University of Edinburgh was boiled on the industrial action in the dispute over the university plans to mitain 140 million pounds from their budget.
Universities and Faculties (UCU) claimed that the university refused to exclude a mandatory superfluous colds as part of the cut, which said it would be “the biggest ever” in history Scottish Higher education.
The Union also questioned the need for a decrease, saying that the net assets of the University in the amount of three billion from the pounds made one of the richest in the country.

The President of the Branch of UCO Sophia Woodman said, “There is no need for the university to not prepare £ 140 million.

“UCU branch is determined as everyone to ensure long-term feasibility and health University of Edinburgh But that should be the future in which staff and students are, and teaching and research at the forefront.
“The reduction of the Higher University University leaders will plan to have a devastating impact not only on the future of the University, but also on the city and our local economy.
“Senior University managers need to listen to what their staff speaks, exclude mandatory surpluses and deal with a union to find a better path forward.”
The vote comes after the announcement of the Chief University of Professor, Mr. Peter Mathieson from the need for downloaded “radical actions across the University, which will lead to a smaller staff base and lower operating costs.”
The UCU Secretary General, Jo Grady, branded the planned cuts “Nothing short of academic vandalism.”
“Edinburgh University is one of the oldest and the most popular universities of Scotland with incomparable reputation in the international reputation,” she added.
“Professor Mathieson should review these brutal cuts and perform their job in the protection of jobs and the reputation and future of the University.”
The opening of voters coincides with the end of 15 days of striking actions by UCU members at University of Dundee through plans to reduce 632 jobs.

Responsive, Professor Mathieson said that the action now needed to ensure that the university has remained “strongly set” for the future.
“We are, and we were, in a discussion with our common unions during this process, during which detailed financial modeling were provided.

“We appreciate many concerns who asked colleagues, students and others in our community, and we make all efforts to listen.
“However, we were very clear that our current financial position is not sustainable and we are not immune to the challenges that the higher education sector is currently facing.
“The actions we have now, which include a reduction in the operating costs of staff and non-staff, will ensure that we will remain strongly set for the future, so we can continue to attract the brightest mind and remain the worldwide.
“We will continue to connect with unions and pronounce them to work together with us to shape a positive and sustainable outcome for the University and its community.”
