Worcester Red Sox used two three-round bursts to build an early leadership on the Jacksonville Jumbo shrimp, and the visitors managed to go out, 7-1, Friday.
Blake Sabol doubled in the right field at the first post, driving in a couple of runs and putting the Woosox in front to start. Vaughn Grissom scored on the balance, putting the Red Sox in front of three.
They doubled their leadership in the third thanks to Marcelo Mayer and Nate Eaton’s RBI Singles and the Fly sack by Abraham Toro. Toro added another race to the Red Sox Tally to the fifth with a double RBI.
Shane Drohan hit six batters through four jobs. The left allowed a look, but the victory was to Bryan Mata, who replaced Drohan in the fifth and threw two and two thirds, reaching six and allowed four times and one shot.
Red Sox (3-3) will face Jacksonville on Saturday, April 5 at 18:35 in the fifth game of his six-game series with Jumbo Shrump.
