More than 140 hopeful “American Idol” entered the “Idol Arena” round of the Episode’s singing competition on Monday night. At the end of the program, only 62 contenders remained.
The event involved the biggest removal of “American Idol”, sending 82 contestants to home after the first round of Hollywood Week in the competition.
In “Idol Arena”, the task of the singers was to act before the judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, as well as their competition, without warning. The judges did not reveal the results of the round until all 144 performers had staged at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.
Before listening to the final verdict, the contestants were ordered in four groups, two of which advanced to the next round. Some of the family faces that will remain in the series include Slater Nalley, Amanda Barise, Thunderstorm Artis, Breanna Nix, Jamal Roberts, Baylee Littrell, Victor Solomon and Crews Wright.
“To be at the moment, you are probably worthy enough to be an incredible singer,” Bryan told the first group, before sharing that it was the “end of the road” for contestants.
When he spoke with the fourth and final group, Underwood reflected on his time as a contestant “idol” in time.
“I have been here before and I will be really honest, I do not know what was most difficult: to be at the end of things or to be in this end of things, because I know that the weight of our decisions and our deliberations, and I know that it has been so difficult for you for all of you for your dream,” he said. “I have some bad news for you – you’ll be out of the house a little more.”
The 62 “hopeful” left -wing will continue to compete in the “Showstoppers” round, which will be published next week.
