Springfield – While the heads of the city department continue to look for ways to cut the expense, they are concerned about whether it will be enough to prepare for possible federal cuts.
The city receives $ 55 million in direct federal assistance and schools receive about $ 75 million, much of the first title helping schools with a large number of low -income families, said Mayor Domenic J. Sarno.
“If we lost this funding, CDGB (Federal Community Blog Blocks) is a lifestyle for mayors,” Sarno said in reference to the Federal Law program, which provides money for a large number of poverty projects.
