Suspect arrested months after murder victim found partially buried at fast-food drive-thru


The suspect was arrested for months after the murder victim was found partially buried on a Florida Fast food drive-through.

Michael Canty, 54, was charged last week in connection with the death of June 2024. Dawn Morrison, says Hillsborough County Sheriff.

The investigators talked to their friends, raised DNA evidence and review video surveillance. That led them to Canty as a suspect.

Video showed Canty and Morris walking to the trash near McDonald 15. June, states Tampa Bay Times. The two then walked towards the church, and a loud scream “help” could be heard before the camera stopped filming.

The video also pointed to the bin between two restaurants in the area and changing clothes.

Canty said she was with a woman to do drugs. At first he refused to go to the drive-through. However, when he showed the video, he said it was possible, and he does not remember, toward Time.

When charged, Canty was already in custody due to unrelated charge for registration failure as a sex offender, authorities said. Now faces accusations for the second instance murder and cheating physical evidence.
