Terence Crawford told Gervonta Davis on X to “stop being scared” and take on Shakur Stevenson and Keyshawn Davis. The two are close friends of Crawford’s, so it makes sense that he’s trying to shame Tank Davis into fighting them.
Crawford’s protégé
Keyshavn doesn’t have a fan base and has looked terrible against Miguel Maduen and Nahir Albright. He showed no interest in fighting the Cubans Andy Cruzwho whipped him four times in the amateurs and made him look like a circus clown at the 2020 Olympics.
The tank won’t help Crawford’s gym buddy, Keishawn. If Crawford wants to try to make his friend Keeshon a star, he needs to give him some courage to face the conqueror Andy Cruz.
Crawford tries to get to Gervonta after smashing him on X, saying,
“You all really think he (Crawford) is chasing greatness.” He didn’t. That’s what he has to do to make decent money.”
Tank Davis talks about Terrence chasing paychecks, not greatness against Canelo Alvarez in Saudi Arabia. This is more about retirement money for Crawford. If it was really in his heritage, he would have moved to 168 and proven himself first instead of begging for a fight.
Crawford told fans that his reasoning for moving up two weight classes to take on unified super-middleweight champion Canelo was to make the “legacy” great, but Davis sees it as purely money-oriented.
Bud’s Bunch
@Gervontaa look, I’ve got bigger fish to fry. Grow up a little and fight @ShakurStevenson or @KeishavnDavis8 and stop being afraid. That’s probably why you ran over a girl and beat her in the ass because you’re not crazy and she knows it.😂

That’s what Crawford has to do to make money because he can’t sell. Crawford’s last fight against Israil Madrimov reportedly brought in between 75,000 and 100,000 buys. Those are scary numbers. Crawford was NEVER a PPV draw like Tank Davis was.
Lightweight contender Keeshon Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) shares the same trainer with ‘Bud’ Crawford. They are both coached by Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntire.
The tank will not fight a boring Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KO) because he is not a marketable fighter and would be dead weight for promotion. Gervonta would bring in all the PPV buys and Shakur would just be there. Shakur is a boring fighter that people don’t want to watch.
I still don’t know why Eddie Hearn signed Shakur and thinks he can turn him into a “global star”. That doesn’t happen in the US
Maybe Hearn can make Shakur a star in the UK as their entertainment standards seem low. That’s why fighters like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. are so popular there. They would never be stars in the U.S. You have to have talent to be a star in America.
