Lousie Thompson seems to have “confirmed” her brother Sam Thompson‘s split from Zara McDermott.
It was announced this week I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! winner Sam and ex Island of love and Strictly contestant McDermott broke up after five years together.
The news of their alleged split comes after them allegedly had a link “crisis talks” following an altercation at the Television and Radio Industry Club (TRIC) awards in June.
Fans of the couple have been scouring their Instagram pages for any hints about the fate of their relationship – but the biggest clue has come from Louisa’s social media pages.
On Friday (January 3), Louise shared a post about the “burying and burning ritual” she carried out in her garden after what she described as “one of the best and worst years” of her life.
Underneath the post, one of her followers, expressing concern that Louise may no longer be friends with Zara if she splits from her brother, wrote: “I hope you don’t just dump Zara.”
Louise, who lives next door to the couple, liked the comment, which fans are taking as proof that the reports are true.
One fan responded: “Liking this comment basically confirmed the split for all of us!!”
Sam and McDermott’s possible split comes after the former described the BBC documentary presenter as his “soul mate” in a birthday message posted online.
He wrote: “I’m afraid you’re stuck with me forever. Happy birthday. I love you so much, and wow, I’ve missed you for the past month! Here’s to another amazing year with you.”
The pair began dating in 2019 after Sam messaged McDermott on Instagram. They split briefly the following year when McDermott admitted to cheating on Thompson on set. X Factor: Celebrity but they confirmed they were back together just a few months later.
Following their alleged row in June, Thompson was seen being comforted by his best friend Pete Wicks after breaking down in tears.
One source attributed their alleged split to a split due to work commitments, which is a story MailOnline: “Zara and Sam’s relationship just never felt like it was going for the long haul. They were delaying the inevitable for a few months because they had drifted apart and their lives had become completely different.”
