Mass. State Lottery winner: First $1 million prize of 2025 claimed



The winner of the first $1 million lottery prize to be claimed in 2025 was presented with his ticket on Thursday.

The million dollar prize was from the “Diamond Deluxe” scratch ticket game, which costs $30 per ticket to play and launched on September 10, 2024.

This was the first $1 million prize to be claimed in the game, with seven remaining to be claimed as of January 3rd. Three $15 million grand prizes are also up for grabs.

The $1 million winning ticket claimed Thursday was sold in Brockton at R&K Food Mart.

Also, someone claimed a $100,000 prize from the same scratch card game. The winning ticket was sold in New Bedford at a store called Charlie Convenience.

In all, at least 1,201 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed Thursday in Massachusetts, including 15 in Springfield, 44 in Worcester and 96 in Boston.

The Massachusetts State Lottery release a complete list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.
