Alone in the house Actress Catherine O’Hara revealed she struggled to deliver one of them Christmas movie lines for Macaulay Culkin
An actor who has reunited with former child starsappeared in 1990 festive movieshe plays Kate McCallister, the mother of Culkin’s Kevin.
In the film based on the screenplay by John Hughes, directed by Chris Columbus, Kevin is left at home when his family goes on vacation for Christmas. At one stage near the beginning, Kevin has an argument with his family the night before they leave for Paris.
When his mom sends him to the attic to sleep as punishment, he says he doesn’t want to see him “for the rest of the night,” to which Kevin replies, “I don’t want to see you again for the rest of my life, and I don’t want to see anyone else either.” .”
Here, his mum says: “I hope you don’t think so – you’d feel pretty sad if you woke up tomorrow morning and didn’t have a family.”
However, according to O’Hara, she struggled deeply with the line that followed.
The Schitt’s Creek The star revealed the detail while giving a speech about Culkin at the ceremony to unveil his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December 2023.

In her candid speech, O’Hara reflected on the success of Home Alone, crediting it to Culkin’s performance. He was 10 years old at the time.
