Children going to school Tuesday was an “act of courage,” Wisconsin official says
Dane County Executive Melissa Agard praised students and school staff in the district and across the country for going to school the day after the deadly shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin.
“Kids, my kids, teachers across our community and actually across our nation had to wake up and go to school today and that was an act of courage,” Agard said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
“The parents who left their children after what we witnessed yesterday showed courage and faith in our community. And that’s a courage that we shouldn’t put on the shoulders of our children and our families and our community.”
She added, “It’s okay to not feel good right now.”
