Conor McGregor claims he agreed to fight Logan Paul at a boxing exhibition in India to delay his UFC the return.
The former UFC two-heavyweight champion has been inactive since suffering a broken leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
His return to the Octagon was further complicated last month after he was ordered to pay nearly €250,000 to the woman who accused him of rapewith two companies dropped him from promotion.
It follows a planned return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June that fell through after McGregor pulled out with an injured foot, but a surprise return to action in 2025 appears to be in the works.
“Rumors of a fight with [Ilia] Topurio is fake,” McGregor said on X.
“I am in preliminary arrangements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I agreed. Then I will look for my return to the Octagon.”

Paul competed in four exhibition boxing bouts, with a loss and a draw to KSI, a no-goal fight against Floyd Mayweather and a win against MMA fighter Dillon Danis.
But after the huge success in WWEafter winning the US Championship in November 2023 and impressing in a series of high-profile matches during PPV events, a return to boxing could be in the works.
McGregor has one professional boxing match on his record, a loss to Mayweather in 2017, which resulted in the American achieving a TKO in the 10th round.

Nikita Hand, who accused the former UFC champion of raping her in a Dublin hotel six years ago, won her claim against McGregor last month – for damages in a High Court civil case.
McGregor, who denied the claim that he “brutally raped and beat her”, said he would appeal the verdict.
