2016 Olympic bronze medalist Ahmadaliyev (12-1, 9 KOs) is seeking a title shot against undisputed 122-pound champion Naoya Inoue, who has shown no interest in fighting him, options for easier targets.
If Akmadaliev, 30, wins tonight, he will retain the interim WBA belt and could force a reluctant ‘Monster’ Inoue to fight him or vacate the WBA title.
Also on tonight’s card, cruiserweight Chiron Clarke (10-0, 7 KOs) faces Leonard Moscue (15-0, 9 KOs) for the vacant EBU belt in a 12-round co-main event.
