There won’t be one Jalen Reagor revenge game at Gillette Stadium later this month.
The Chargers placed first patriots out on injured reserve with a finger problem Saturday afternoon, sidelining him for the rest of the regular season. Los Angeles visits New England in Week 17, but the 25-year-old will not be active. Reagor spent the 2023 season with the Patriots, catching seven passes for 138 yards and returning a punt for a touchdown in last year’s finale against the Bills.

Reagor made New England’s initial 53-man roster out of training camp this summer, but was released a day later after a flurry of waiver claims. The veteran was re-signed to the practice squad, but seemed displeased with his role there. On his Instagram account before his second release in September, Reagor posted a meme of an expensive Bugatti in a trailer park, hinting at his unhappiness with his situation in New England.
He eventually landed with the Chargers, where he has appeared in eight games, catching seven passes for 100 yards.
A 2020 Eagles first-rounder once taken in Justin Jefferson, Philadelphia traded Reagor to the Vikings after two disappointing seasons. He couldn’t find more traction in Minnesota and then landed with New England last year. In an interview during the 2023 season in Foxborough, Reagor said naysayers once bothered him, but he no longer cared about being labeled a draft.
“Now, my mind is different. I’m much more mature. Things don’t bother me anymore. I used to pay attention to social media. Now, I don’t. If someone says I’m good, bad or indifferent, it doesn’t really change how I I feel for myself,” Reagor said. “He tends to do it because coming in, as a first round (pick), there is pressure. Now it’s very easy for me to play because I don’t have any pressure. Everyone thinks I’m a bust. So it’s great. Now I can go play.”
